VAISAKH
Hey, I'm Vaisakh P. — Cloud Engineer.
I work on AWS infrastructure, cloud operations, automation, and making deployments more reliable. Currently building my experience one real-world problem at a time.
01 / The toolkit
I'd focus.
Tools I use, explore, and build with. No made-up proficiency scores.
02 / A bit about me
Cloud is more than clicking buttons.
I'm an early-career Cloud Engineer based in Kerala. My work has included AWS infrastructure operations, cloud cost optimisation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and deployment automation across AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
I started in cloud support at F9 Infotech and moved into an Associate Cloud Engineer role at Security Quotient. I'm focused on getting stronger at the fundamentals: Linux, networking, AWS architecture, infrastructure as code, and dependable operations.
I prefer understanding why something broke, documenting the fix, and making the next incident easier to handle—not just closing a ticket.
03 / Where I've worked
Learning in production.
Early in my career, with hands-on work and plenty more to learn.
Associate Cloud Engineer
Security Quotient · Kochi, India
- Support AWS infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, incident response, and cost optimisation.
- Helped reduce monthly AWS spend from approximately $900 to $700 through EC2/RDS right-sizing, idle-resource cleanup, and Savings Plans.
- Work across cloud operations in a small IT team, including investigating issues and documenting repeatable procedures.
Cloud Support Associate
F9 Infotech · Kochi, India
- Helped migrate frontend CI/CD from OCI DevOps to Jenkins, integrated with Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE); deployment time went from about 10 minutes to 2 minutes.
- Supported an emergency cross-region EC2/RDS migration from UAE to Mumbai during a regional disruption.
- Worked on WordPress on AWS using LAMP and RDS, Terraform infrastructure, CloudWatch troubleshooting, DNS/SSL issues, and operational SOPs.
04 / Things I've built
Work in progress.
Lessons included.
A few practical projects that show what I've been learning and doing.
Scalable application on AWS EKS
Deployed a Flask application to EKS with multiple pods and services. Built a GitHub Actions pipeline to build a Docker image, push it to ECR, and deploy to EKS. Added Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, and tested performance with Hey.
WordPress on AWS
Set up WordPress with a LAMP stack and Amazon RDS. Worked through security group rules and connectivity troubleshooting as part of an infrastructure assignment.
OCI DevOps to Jenkins migration
Migrated a frontend deployment workflow to Jenkins and connected it with OKE behind an OCI Load Balancer, reducing the reported deployment time from around 10 minutes to around 2 minutes.
Terraform AWS resources
Practised defining and managing AWS infrastructure resources with Terraform, including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, and security groups.
